Making Asthma Uncommon in the Commonwealth:
Commemorating World Asthma Day
Please join MA Asthma Action Partnership on May 1st, World Asthma Day, at the State House.
Date: May 1, 2018
Time: 9:45 am – 1:30 pm
Location: MA State House, Room 428
24 Beacon St., Boston, MA 02133
Lunch will be provided; please indicate any dietary restrictions.
Come learn about the efforts, challenges and successes of those who help our Commonwealth’s residents living with asthma, as well as opportunities to further improve both environmental conditions and health care systems that impact them. MAAP and our partners statewide provide education and promote best practices and policies aimed at eradicating exposures to environmental triggers in homes, schools, and the broader community. We also work to increase access to culturally competent and quality clinical care to support asthma management, particularly for low-income communities and communities of color. As part of this day, participants will visit legislators in groups to talk about the important of various issues – such as school nurses, climate change, community health workers, etc. Senator Jason Lewis and Representative Aaron Vega are co-sponsoring this event.
